Martin Berkeley, the principal of the specialist financial services consultancy Corvinus Capital, has been recognised with the prestigious accolade of the Expert Witness Award 2016, by Lawyer Monthly magazine, in recognition of his specialised knowledge and experience within in the area of Derivatives and Financial Services.
Mr Berkeley has acted as an expert in many financial cases for claimants and defendants in both mediations and litigation. He has worked on both advisory and single/joint expert witness basis, across the UK and abroad. He has dealt with a wide range of cases and has been instructed by leading solicitors, barristers and clients in both the UK and Europe.
Commenting Martin said ‘I am both surprised and delighted to have been selected for the award. The world of Financial Services can be very confusing and I enjoy getting to the root of problems and communicating what can be complex issues in plain language. Derivatives are one of the most complex financial instruments and can be very hazardous. Properly used they are useful and we are all exposed to them, knowingly or not’.
